Nothing too serious, nothing too heavy, but if you like poetry and reading about poetry, then I would hope that you would find something to enjoy here.

I like all types of poetry and have had a go at writing in many different styles. I enjoy writing poetry that has elements of the ridiculous in it, but this doesn’t mean that I don’t often try and produce non-ridiculous stuff - sometimes it actually works for me.

I also do a companion blog called Sixty Odd Poets, and if you would like to have a page on it devoted to you, get in touch. All you need is a decent photograph (preferably with a blank background, one or two poems, (ideally six) and a Wonderful Third Person Biography (written by yourself)

Mike O’Brien enjoys nothing more than performing his poetry in front of an audience. His published work includes The Great British Poets (2014), Sixty Odd Songs (2016) and A Voyage Around My Father Figures (2019). He currently produces Sixty Odd Poems, a weekly blog which features not only his poetry but also his writing about his poetry.
